Bexhill and Battle MP Greg Barker urged housing group Amicus Horizon to make their homes a showcase of energy efficiency when he met with Regional Director Jane Porter in Bexhill.
As Minister of State for Climate Change, Greg knows about the difference that simple home energy efficiency measures can make to people’s lives – keeping the vulnerable warm and slashing their energy bills.
With the prospect of new affordable housing being built on land opened up by the along the proposed Bexhill link road, Greg told Jane Porter of his vision for sustainable and well-designed new home for local families.
Speaking from Bexhill, Greg said:
“Any new development when it comes must include a good mix of affordable housing for local people.
However I also want it to set a new standard for sustainability and be far more energy efficient and cheaper to heat than is currently the case.
This is not just about saving our planet but also about keeping down the cost of expensive fuel bills.”
