Greg joins Hooe Open Group Jubilee celebrations

19 June 2012

Greg joined the Hooe Open Group for their Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Hooe Village Hall last Friday. The popular local ladies’ club meets monthly under the Chairmanship of Mrs Edna Wallis and its activities include talks, outings and meals for its many members.

Speaking at Hooe, Greg said “I was delighted to finish off a tremendous Jubilee week with the wonderful ladies of Hooe Open Group who put on a riot of red, white and blue and invited me to cut their very tasty celebration cake and propose the loyal toast.

“Not only has the Diamond Jubilee been a heart-felt tribute to Her Majesty the Queen in recognition of 60 years of dedicated service to the country but it has also been a wonderful coming together of local communities, especially in our area.”

Also present were the Mayor of Bexhill, Cllr Joanne Gadd and Cllr Brian Gadd, Cllr Pam Doodes, Wealden District Council, and Rother District Councillors Stuart Earl and Mrs Deirdre Williams. The cake was provided by Cllr Stuart Earl.
