Greg supports residents and parents campaign for traffic calming on B2096

19 June 2012

Greg visited Cade Street near Heathfield to lend his support to local residents and parents who are concerned about the dangers posed to pedestrians, especially local primary and secondary school children, by traffic speeding through the village on the B2096.

Local campaigner Susie Frank has arranged a public meeting on Thursday 28 June at 7.30pm at Heathfield Community College, Cade Street with local councillors from East Sussex County Council to discuss the possibility of traffic calming measures on this stretch of road.

Speaking at Cade Street, Greg said “Speeding traffic in rural areas is a perennial problem for local communities and I’m particularly concerned about the problem along the B2096 with its proximity to two local schools. The danger to local children walking to and from school is particularly acute, which is why I’m lending my full support to local residents ahead of the meeting on 28 June.”
